Chennai is set to become the 14th airport in India to be seamlessly connected with the DigiYatra platform, a digital initiative by the Ministry of Civil Aviation aimed at simplifying air travel for passengers.
This move comes as the number of users on the DigiYatra mobile application hits a milestone.
As of February 10, 2024, the number of passengers utilizing the DigiYatra app has surged to 45.8 lakhs, marking a significant increase of 20.5 percent from the beginning of the year when it stood at 38 lakhs.
DigiYatra offers a hassle-free experience for travelers, allowing them to navigate airports seamlessly. The platform, initially launched at New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Varanasi airports in December 2022, has now expanded to include 10 more airports across the country.
Out of the 45.8 lakhs DigiYatra users, 21.2 lakhs are on the Android platform, with the remaining 24.6 lakhs on iOS devices.
Since its inception, approximately 1.45 crore passengers have benefitted from the convenience and efficiency of the DigiYatra app, streamlining their airport experience and enhancing overall travel satisfaction.
The inclusion of Chennai airport into the DigiYatra network underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to modernize and improve air travel infrastructure across the nation.
With more airports joining the initiative, passengers can expect greater ease and efficiency in their journeys, reinforcing India’s position as a leader in leveraging technology for enhanced travel experiences.
