Le Mans 24-hour - Karun Chandhok Finishes 10th in LMP2, 12th Overall
India’s Karun Chandhok and his team finished 12th overall and 10th in the LMP2 category in the 85th edition of the 24-hour endurance race of 24-hours Le Mans.

India’s very own racer, Karun Chandhok and his team finished 12th overall and 10th in the LMP2 category in the 85th edition of the 24-hour endurance race of 24-hours Le Mans. Karun Chandhok took on to Twitter to express his exuberance.

Chandhok said in a Tweet – “5300 km in 24 hours; 300000 spectators; proud to be the only Indian on the grid! Always nice to finish in the top 10.”

Karun chandhok, who raced for Tockwith Motorsports with teammates Nigel Moore and Philip Hanson in the Le Mans raced for 3-hours during the graveyard shift in the race and helped his team to finish in the top 10 in the LMP2 category.

Karun Chandhok has raced in the prestigious Formula 1 for teams like HRT and Lotus before joining the FIA GT series and FIA Formula E championship. He has been racing for the 24-hours Le Mans since the 2012 season and his best finish has been on the 6th spot in the 2012 series, followed by the 5th spot finish in the class position, racing for the Murphy prototypes.Porsche wins 24-hours Le Mans 2017 series!

In the overall results, Porsche won the 2017 24-hours Le Mans, dashing the hopes of Hong Kong actor and stuntman Jackie Chan’s DC Racing. Meanwhile, Toyota’s agonising wait for a maiden title continued. Timo Bernhard won the 19th Le Mans title for the German constructor as he overtook Ho-Pin Tung in Chan’s LMP2 class Oreca-Gibson with less than an hour to go.
