Out of total promised busses by the PPS Motors, 63 buses have been flagged off by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

In a move to revolutionize public transport in Odisha, PPS Motors is all set to deliver around 300 BharatBenz buses to the state government. The firm has already fulfilled half of the promise as 63 buses already have been released by their end, and have been flagged off by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

The decision has been taken under the Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI). As per the details shared by the officials, the green signal was given to run these passenger buses in the State in Bhawanipatna’s Kalahandi District.

After Sale Support By PPS Motors

The authorized dealer partner of BharatBenz in the state, PPS Motors had secured this significant order from the commercial vehicle brand. It has been reported that the company will also take care of after-sales support for these buses.

Sharing the views on the occasion, PPS Motors’ Managing Director, Rajiv Sanghvi said “We are extremely delighted and honoured to have got the order for 298 buses from the Odisha Government under the LAccMI scheme that is set to revolutionize the state’s public transportation. Daimler India Commercial Vehicles President, Sreeram Venkateswaran also reacted on the same and said, “We are honored that the Government of Odisha chose BharatBenz and feel proud to be delivering a large fleet of BharatBenz buses that will serve the people of Odisha by offering them a safe and comfortable commuting experience across the lengths and breadths of the beautiful state.”

Sole Purpose of LAccMI policy

Meanwhile, the LAccMI policy has been introduced to transform the public transportation system in the state. The report says the primary focus of the scheme is to improve links between blocks and districts.
