It has been reported that these petrol models are expected to hit the market somewhere in the next year. However, the brand is yet to reveal an official date about the same.

Good news for all the petrolheads in India! The leading car manufacturer Tata is gearing up to give a major update to its giant SUV Safari and Harrier range. Both the best-selling vehicles are likely to be launched in petrol versions. Yes, you read it right.

Ahead of the official release, a test mule of Safari has been spotted during the testing phase. According to the reports, the heavily camouflaged SUV is claimed to be a petrol version as the model does not feature any updates from outside.

Launch Date?

This somehow hints the company might put the vehicle in the petrol category, and will give more powertrain options to the customers. It has been reported that these petrol models are expected to hit the market somewhere in the next year.  However, the brand has not shared or revealed any official details about the same as yet.

Engine Options

Wondering about the engine options? Well, if you remember, the Tata has showcased two engine options at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo. It was 1.2-litre TGDi and 1.5-litre TGDi engines. The former is already taken in the Curvv ICE, while the latter is expected to power the upcoming Safari and Harrier.

Expected Power Figures

Once launched, this powertrain is likely to generate a maximum power of 170 bhp at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 280 Nm between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm.  Again! this is just a speculation, a concrete confirmation is yet to be delivered by the company.
