Former Satyam chief Raju suffers cardiac arrest in jail
Ramalinga Raju was shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences.

Hyderabad: Disgraced founder of Satyam Computer Services Limited B Ramalinga Raju suffered cardiac arrest in a jail on Monday night and was rushed to a hospital.

Raju, who is in Chanchalguda Jail along with seven other accused in connection with Rs 7,800 crore accounting fraud, was given first aid by the jail authorities after he complained of chest pain. He was then shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

Doctors said he was undergoing treatment in intensive care unit and his condition was stable.

Raju is already suffering from Hepatitis B and is being treated for the same.

It was on January 7 this year that Raju shocked the corporate world by admitting Rs 7,800 crore accounting fraud in the IT major.

He and other accused have been charged with cheating and criminal conspiracy and are being tried for the same.
