Batting maestro Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fanfare across India. From setting up a mural of Kohli’s face by using 5000 cricket balls to a sunlight artist creating a portrait of the former Indian skipper, the country has witnessed some incredible gestures of love for the star batter. Recently a fan created a special portrait of Kohli. The BCCI on Friday shared a video of Kohli meeting the wheelchair-bound fan, named Srinivas as the batting maestro signed a unique portrait created by him.

The Chennai-born even revealed that he needed more than 40 hours to create the special art.

“I’m Srinivas, I’m here I’m from Chennai I’m studying Graphic designing I came here to buy tickets but eventually I met Virat Kohli and he signed on this. Yeah, I drew it myself, it took me 40+ hours to draw this I was super anxious, he came straight into me,” revealed the delighted fan.

Sharing footage of the heart-warming interaction, the official Instagram handle of the Indian cricket team wrote, “It took me 40+ hours to make this for Virat Kohli.’ Meet Srinivas – Virat Kohli’s very special fan who had a day to remember in Chennai.”

Srinivas was, undoubtedly, elated after Virat Kohli agreed to click a picture along with him. “I felt like am I dreaming? I was like, he came towards me and asked do you want me to sign the portrait? I was like yes sir sure and I asked him for a picture and he said sure sure come let’s take a picture. I became his fan just for his cover drive, and that cover drive made me draw this. I wish all the 15 players good luck,” the young Team India supporter added.

Having scored three ODI centuries this year, Kohli looks to be in fine form ahead of the World Cup 2023. Overall, the 34-year-old has scored 47 centuries in ODIs till now. Kohli currently needs two more ODI tons to touch Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 centuries in the 50-overs format. Last month, Kohli became the fastest batter to score 13,000 runs in ODI cricket. He achieved this sensational feat during the Asia Cup game against arch-rivals Pakistan

Meanwhile, after winning the Asia Cup, the Indian cricket team will kick off their World Cup 2023 campaign with a match against the mighty Australia on Sunday, October 8. India’s World Cup opener is scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
