Aravelly Avanish Rao made his family and everyone in his village extremely proud after five-time champions Chennai Super Kings raised the paddle for him in the IPL 2024 Players’ Auction. The young player belongs to a Pothugal village in Mustabad mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, Telangana and the moment he was bought by a CSK for INR 20 Lakh was a memorable one for the entire village.
The 18-year-old comes from a humble background as his father Lakshman Rao is a software engineer, while his mother Sushma belongs to Kolanur village of Konaraopet Mandal in the same district.

The 18-year-old also secured a place in India’s under-19 squads for the upcoming tri-series in South Africa and ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024.
Aravelly Avanish Rao has also led Hyderabad’s Under-14 and Under-19 teams in the past. He grabbed the attention with his 183-run knock against Chennai at junior-level cricket. He also produced impressive performances in other local tournaments. He will now look to impress the Chennai Super Kings management to get an opportunity in the playing XI.
