For Rinku Singh, it was all part of God’s plan indeed, as the Indian hard-hitter lit up the Delhi skies with his blistering fifty against Bangladesh on Wednesday.
India, who were put up to bat first, faced a bit of a hitch to get going, as both openers along with skipper Suryakumar Yadav all failed to score for the side, leading to India slumping to 41-3.
This is when the hard-hitting phenom Rinku Singh stepped in for India, to save them from the clutches of a seemingly challenging Bangladesh bowling ranks.
Along with Nitish Kumar Reddy, Rinku took on the visiting bowlers with ease, clobbering them at ease for boundaries galore in classic fashion, as he set himself up for yet another blistering fifty.
Facing a low lying full-toss from Tanzim, Rinku would swing one wildly for the ball to take a thick edge off his bat and fly over third man for a six to bring about his fifty for India.
Upon scoring his fifty, Rinku celebrated calmly as he pointed to his recent tattoo, which reads ‘God’s Plan’, and looked up to the sky in relief.

It wouldn’t just be Rinku who would slay with the bat for India. His compatriot, Nitish Kumar Reddy, would go on to notch his maiden fifty for India in just his second match.
Nitish would pile on a whopping 74 runs from just 34 balls, in an innings peppered with 4 fours and 7 sixes.
Then, it would be the charismatic Hardik Pandya, who would also chip in 39 runs of his own in 19 balls.
A couple more sixes from the likes of Riyan Parag and Arshedeep Singh would power India to a sensational total of 221 runs in 20 overs.
