'Grateful to Our Non-Playing Staff...Thank You': Rishabh Pant Shares Appreciation for India's Coaching Staff After T20 WC Win

It’s not just merely the players who win you the trophies, but it’s also the efforts of the many people who work behind-the-scenes and toil away at helping the players inch towards glory.

Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant surely did not lose sight of the same, as he took time to shed light and give the non-playing staff of the Indian team their flowers after they clinched the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados on Saturday.

Pant, who made a comeback to the Indian side after his horrendous life-threatening accident almost two years back, was an unmistakable part of the victorious campaign.

The high-octane keeper was back to his best behind the stumps, and provided moments of sheer destructive batting, just like usual, through the campaign.

After India’s nail-biting 7-run win over South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final, Pant took time to acknowledge not just the players, but more importantly the staff who worked behind the scenes, and shared his appreciation for them all on X.

“Grateful to our incredible support and non-playing staff! Your dedication and hard work behind the scenes made all the difference. Thank you,” read the post from Pant on X.

India were involved in a thriller of a match against the mighty Proteas, both undefeated teams in the tournament, as the Virat Kohli-anchored batting order put up a historic total of 176 in their outing, the highest total set in an ICC T20 World Cup Final.

After that, it was time for India’s finest with the ball to shine. And shine they did, when the moment called for it, as the likes of Hardik Pandya and the ever-imminent Jasprit Bumrah delivered a masterclass in death bowling to seal a nail-biting 7-run win over the Proteas, to clinch the coveted T20 WC trophy.
