The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match no. 32, between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in Kolkata, is likely to be shifted or postponed due to the Rama Navami festivities. While the authorities are unsure of providing optimum security to conduct the T20 game in the capital city of West Bengal, general elections would simultaneously complicate the issue.

According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is mulling over postponing the game. The Indian cricket board, along with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is in constant touch with the Kolkata Police but a final decision is yet to be made. It has also been learned that both franchises and the broadcasters have been informed about the possible fixture change.
“The discussions are on with the police authorities and we will take a decision soon,” a top BCCI official was quoted as saying in the report.

Earlier, the BCCI released the schedule in two phases. The first phase included 21 games. Once the general election dates were announced, the BCCI rolled out the fixture of the remaining 53 matches. The board had maintained its stand of conducting the entire tournament on the Indian soil, refraining from relocating the matches to the UAE.

The Royals, just like Kolkata, are yet to be defeated. They began their campaign beating Lucknow Super Giants at home and then outsmarted the Delhi Capitals to register two wins in a row. RR are currently placed 3rd on the points table with 4 points and an NRR of +0.800.
