RCB set MI a target of 197 thanks to half-centuries from Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik, while Jaspirt Bumrah starred with a fifer. The hosts managed to chase it down with 27 balls to spare as Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav produced swashbuckling innings to take their side over the line with ease.

The win lifted MI to seventh in the standings with four points and a net run rate of -0.073 as they leapfrogged Punjab Kings, who were pushed to the eighth spot due to an inferior NRR despite having amassed the same number of points.
