'Wanted to Maintain the Aggression': SRH's Travis Head Eager to Keep up His 360-degree Game After Fiery Knock vs MI
Travis Head began his career in orange with a bang as he struck an 18-ball fifty for SRH in the high scoring fixture against MI.

After traumatising Indian fans in the ODI World Cup, Travis Head continued to dominate as he made his return to the Indian Premier League, marking his first appearance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad at their first home game against Mumbai Indians.

It did not take him long to get going as he attacked the 17-year-old South African quick, Kwena Maphaka who was making his debut in the very first delivery for a boundary.

Speaking in the post-match presentation, Head revealed his intention to contribute after the tough loss the side had faced at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He said,” Feeling good, the batting team has done an exceptional job in the last two games, so it feels good to contribute. It was very enjoyable tonight”.

Head also mentioned his plans of being aggressive right from ball one and it clearly showed as he managed to smash the 17-year-old debutant Kwena Maphaka for a boundary on the Aussie’s first ball itself. He added, “We were aggressive in the first game as well, that’s one thing we want to do at the top. I am pleased I could target both the off-side and leg-side”.

The left-hander admitted that he has improved his game quite a bit with his last stint coming for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in what was a pretty average performance at the time. The wicketkeeper-batter said,” Earlier I would just target the leg side. It’s a great blueprint for us moving forward. Haven’t spoken to Tim David yet. You just try to sum up the conditions well”.

Head’s performance has come in great stead for the Sunrisers as they managed to rack up their first points of the season and also pick up their first win at home where the orange army was in large numbers supporting them. The team sure did deliver an entertaining contest, to say the least.

MI managed to start on a flier with Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma looking to go from ball one. But the regular loss of wickets meant both the openers were back in the pavilion before getting to a big score.

However, the young duo of Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir managed to stitch a crucial partnership quickly to keep up with the asking rate. But Naman was dismissed by the experienced Jaydev Unadkat after scoring 30 off 14 deliveries while Tilak also departed as the skipper Pat Cummins dealt the breakthrough.

SRH will now travel to Ahmedabad where they take on the Gujarat Titans led by Shubman Gill where both teams will look to pick up their second win of the season.
