The Australian Green, who was last seen in action in Australia’s Test team on their tour of New Zealand, was traded to RCB by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024 auction last December. RCB paid a whopping Rs 17.5 crore – the amount MI paid to land the allrounder’s signature during the 2023 players’ auction.

Green justified the hype around him in what was his inaugural appearance in IPL last year, hitting 452 runs from 16 matches including a century against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Lockie Ferguson was released by two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders before RCB bought him at the auction at his base price of Rs 2 crore.
RCB will meet defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the opening clash of IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. RCB failed to make it to the playoffs stage after finishing fifth on the points table behind Mumbai Indians.
Meanwhile, RCB captain Faf du Plessis has already joined their pre-season camp and has started training for the season ahead.
The team though is eagerly awaiting the arrival of their superstar batter and former captain Virat Kohli who recently landed in India.
Kohli has been out of action for nearly two months now due to personal reasons. He last played in the three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan in January this year.
Kohli was RCB’s second-highest run-getter of IPL 2023 with 639 runs from 14 innings at a strike-rate of 139.82. He also scored two centuries during the season as well.
