Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal said, “This feeling you can’t express in words. I am so lucky to have this (trophy).”
India head coach Rahul Dravid was seen getting a jersey signed by each member of the touring party as was the batting coach Vikram Rathour.
Player-of-the-tournament Bumrah had his baby boy Angad in his arms along with the trophy while left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, the joint-highest wicket-taker of the competition, posed with his family.
The team landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on a special Air India flight that was arranged to bring them home from Barbados after they were stuck in the country for nearly three days thanks to Hurricane Beryl that brought life to a standstill in the island.
After arriving in the national capital, the team quickly headed to ITC Maurya from where they will leave to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence around 9:30 AM IST.
After the meeting, they will fly to Mumbai where after a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, they will take part in a road show.
