Bihar Teachers To Apply For Home District Transfers Via E-Shiksha Kosh Starting August 1
The application process will officially begin on August 1, with around 187,000 competency-pass teachers required to submit their applications online.

Great news is on the horizon for teachers in Bihar regarding their postings in their home districts. Starting August 1, teachers will be able to apply for transfers through the E-Shiksha Kosh platform. The education department’s committee is set to meet again to finalise details, with a report expected to be submitted by July 20, shortly after the monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly concludes.

The Nitish Kumar-led government is actively addressing the transfer and posting issues faced by teachers. The committee’s upcoming meeting will cover crucial topics such as compassionate reinstatement, leave calendars and the Bihar education cadre. The application process will officially begin on August 1, with around 187,000 competency-pass teachers required to submit their applications online.

Significantly, the policy governing district allotments for these teachers has been relaxed, paving the way for new postings. The committee has agreed to allow voluntary transfers for teachers who have successfully passed the competency test. However, those who have not passed will be ineligible to apply. Teachers who are reinstated under the BPSC TRE 1 and TRE 2 will also have the opportunity to apply for transfers, while competency-pass teachers will be relocated from planning units.

Transfers will be managed according to the student-teacher ratio, with moves planned from schools that have a surplus of teachers compared to students. Additionally, there will be voluntary transfer options for BPSC teachers; those who choose not to apply will remain in their current positions. Transfers will only occur during the probation period.

Special consideration will be given to women, disabled teachers and those facing serious health issues, along with couples working in the education sector, allowing for direct voluntary transfers. This initiative is expected to bring significant relief to teachers seeking postings in their preferred locations.
