The National Testing Agency (NTA) initiated the application process for the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate 2024 (CUET PG) on December 26, 2023. Candidates can submit their CUET PG 2024 applications online up until January 24. This year introduces several significant changes to the CUET PG 2024, encompassing alterations in the exam pattern, application fee, master’s degree programs for selection, exam centres, and other relevant details.
One notable change is the transition in the application platform. Previously accessible on cuet.nta.nic.in, the application form is now hosted on the new website, pgcuet.samarth.ac.in. The revamped website offers essential information, including the information brochure, syllabus, and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
While the number of examination centres within India for CUET PG 2024 has decreased to 300 from 313 centres last year, the count of overseas exam centres remains unaltered. For the upcoming CUET PG 2024, there are 24 examination centres situated outside India. Candidates are required to select two cities of their preference based on either their permanent address or current residence.
The application fees have increased by Rs 200 for all candidates compared to last year. General category candidates are now required to pay Rs 1,200, while those from OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS need to pay Rs 1,000. The fee for extra test papers, which stood at Rs 500 last year, has been updated to Rs 600 for each additional test paper this year. International applicants will now incur a fee of Rs 6,000 for up to two tests, with an additional charge of Rs 2,000 for extra papers. These figures were previously Rs 5,000 and Rs 1,500, respectively.
The duration of the CUET PG exam, previously set at 2 hours (120 minutes), has now been shortened to 1 hour 45 minutes (105 minutes). The CUET PG Exam 2024 will be organized in three shifts: the first from 9 AM to 10:45 AM, the second from 12:45 PM to 2:30 PM, and the third from 4:30 PM to 6:15 PM. Candidates taking the CUET PG 2024 exam will need to respond to 75 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). This marks a change from the previous year when the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate included a total of 100 questions.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) have assigned the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the CUET for admission to Postgraduate Programs in Central and other participating Universities/ Institutions/ Organizations/Autonomous Colleges.
