UP cadre Indian Administrative Service officer Prerna Singh is in the headlines after she has been appointed the Additional Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority. Prerna hails from Delhi and was born on August 15, 1992. The UP-based IAS officer has secured a degree in engineering, following which she prepared for civil services.
She successfully cleared the exam and joined the administrative services as an officer in 2017. As per reports, Prerna Singh was on maternity leave for a long time and resumed her services recently. She has been allotted the new post after the transfer of another additional CEO Medha Roopam IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2014).
Before joining the administrative services in 2017, Prerna did administrative work in cities like Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah and Hapur. She was first appointed as an Assistant Magistrate in Kanpur and was then posted as Joint Magistrate in Moradabad. She also worked as a CDO (Chief Development Officer) in Etawah and Hapur.

4. Maternity leave for IAS officers
Maternity leave may be granted to a woman member of the service with less than two surviving children on full pay up to 180 days from the date of its commencement. In this period, she shall be paid a leave salary equal to the pay drawn immediately before proceeding on leave.
