How Indore's Ved Lahoti Got AIR 1 In JEE Advanced 2024

On June 9, the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced results were announced. It is known to be one of the toughest exams in the country and every year, lakhs of students attempt the exam. This year, Ved Lahoti from the IIT-Delhi zone topped the exams and cracked JEE Advanced by securing 355 marks out of 360. The young student has set an example that one can achieve anything with the right mindset and hard work.

The JEE Advanced exams were conducted for admission to 17,740 seats in 23 IITs. Ved Lahoti, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has achieved this excellent feat of cracking the JEE Advanced with top-notch score. He secured 355 marks out of 360 and also won a gold medal in the International Junior Science Olympiad in 2021.

Ved Lahoti prepared for the entrance exam in the coaching hub of Kota, Rajasthan. He lived alone there and believed in just one mantra, “Positive pressure and healthy competition are necessary to pass an exam like JEE Advanced.” Every two months, his mother used to visit him in Kota. To ensure success, he studied for 10 hours daily.

After completing his coaching from Indore in 2017, in 2022 he prepared for JEE Advanced from Kota. Despite studying for long hours, he made sure he got complete 8 hours of sleep. Films or watching TV has never interested him. He wants to graduate from IIT Bombay and pursue his post-graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The young man belongs to a simple family. He completed his class 10 from Indore. His father is a manager at a construction company, while his mother is a homemaker. Both his parents are proud of their son’s accomplishments. His mother always believed in him and shared that her son has been good at studies since childhood. It was because of his passion for studies, that they sent him to Kota.

Ved Lahoti has been academic-oriented right from his childhood. In class 5, he participated in the International Math Olympiad and secured a second rank in it. Later, in 2021, he secured the gold medal in the International Junior Science Olympiad.
