Amid the hefty admission fees typically charged by private medical institutions for MBBS courses, this government medical institution in Delhi charges a nominal annual fee of just Rs 1,638.

Though there are reports that Lady Hardinge Medical College charges even less, where annual fees is only Rs 1,400 per year, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi offers an attractive option for students looking to pursue a medical career at a minimal cost.

The total fee for the entire five-year duration at AIIMS Delhi is only Rs 19,896. Moreover, a student shared that the hostel charges are only Rs 2,000.

AIIMS Delhi offers a total of 132 MBBS seats. Out of these, 125 seats are available for Indian students and seven for foreign students. For admission, candidates must qualify the NEET UG entrance exam and then register for counseling based on their scores. AIIMS Delhi should be selected as the first preference during the counseling process.

Known for its high-quality education and low fees, AIIMS Delhi faces significant competition for its MBBS course. This year’s competition is evident from the fact that 68 of the top 100 candidates who have qualified the NEET UG examination this year have chosen AIIMS Delhi as their first preference. Among them, candidates who have secured Rank 1 to Rank 37 had listed AIIMS Delhi as their top choice.
