TNPSC 2021: Engineering Subordinate Services Exam Date Released, Check Details Here

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has issued a notification for the Joint Engineering Subordinate Services Examination 2021.

As per the schedule released, the examination will be held on June 6, 2021. Candidates who wish to appear for TNPSC CSE 2021 exam this year can apply at the official site, tnpsc.gov.in.

The last date to submit an application form is April 4. Applicants will be required to register with a one-time registration fee of Rs 150. “The one-time registration will be valid for five years from the date of registration,” the notification read.

Vacancies

Out of the total 537 vacancies, 348 posts are vacant for Junior Drawing Officer in Public Works Department, 177 posts are for Junior Drawing Officer in Highway Department, five posts are Junior Engineer in Fisheries Department, and one post is of Junior Technical Assistant in Textiles Department.

How To Apply

Step 1: Go to the official website, tnpsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab.

Step 3: A new page will open. Click on the ‘One Time Registration & Dashboard’ tab and register yourself.

Step 4: Upon successful registration, a login ID and password will be generated.

Step 5: Login with your credentials and fill the application form.

Step 6: Pay the requisite fee and submit.

Step 7: Download the application form and keep it safe for future use.

Exam Pattern

The examination will be held in double shifts. Paper 1 (Subject Paper) will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm, while Paper 2 (General Studies) will be held from 3 to 5 pm.

The question in Subject Paper – I in Civil Engineering will be set both in English and Tamil. For all other subjects in Paper-, the paper will be set in English only. The Questions in Paper-II will be set both in Tamil and English.

Selection Process

The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination. “Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and subject to the rule of reservation of appointments, the tentative list of eligible candidates for certificate verification will be announced in the Commission’s website,” TNPSC notification mentioned.

Eligibility

Candidates applying must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architectural Assistantship or Handloom Technology or Textile Manufacture. According to the eligibility criteria mentioned by TNPSC, candidates should have obtained the required qualification in the following order – 10th + Diploma Course (10+3) or 10th + HSC + Diploma Course (10+2+2) or 10th + HSC + Bachelor’s Degree Course (10+2+4).
