Milan: Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have officially announced an agreement with Inter has been reached for the transfer of Samuel Eto'o.
The 30-year-old striker will have a medical before putting pen to paper on a three-year contract which will bring an end to debate over his future.
Negotiations between the clubs had made steady progress over the last three weeks and a final meeting in Milan between Inter and Anzhi chiefs on Tuesday was key to the agreement.
The intricate financial details have not been disclosed by either side, but a statement on Anzhi's website confirmed everything is in place for the transfer pending a medical.
"An agreement has been reached between Anzhi and Inter for the transfer of Samuel Eto'o," read a statement on the Russian club's official website.
"The amount of the transfer has also been agreed upon. Anzhi wishes to thank Inter for their professional and constructive approach during talks.
"Eto'o will have a medical on Wednesday and he will then sign a three-year contract. Samuel will arrive in Russia on Thursday to prepare for the game against FC Rostov."
Inter's director of sport Piero Ausilio also confirmed a done deal when he spoke to Sky Sport Italia after Anzhi announced the transfer.
"Everything is done and the move will be formalised on Wednesday after the medical," said Ausilio.
Despite the two clubs staying quiet over the financial details, previous reports have suggested an agreement for the transfer fee is around 24 million pounds initially, rising to 26 million pounds.
Eto'o will also receive a 17.5 million pounds per annum in a lucrative wage contract, but this has not been confirmed in the official statement.
