Barcelona president vows to retain Guardiola
Reports in Italy have linked Pep Guardiola with a move to Inter Milan next season.

Barcelona: Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has expressed his intentions to keep coach Pep Guardiola at the club amid recent speculation surrounding the 41-year-old's future in Catalunya.

Eyebrows were raised after Guardiola appeared to have failed in committing himself to the Camp Nou cause for the long haul, with reports in Italy on Saturday suggesting that Inter owner Massimo Moratti has identified him as the man to take control of his club next season.

However, Rosell has dismissed the negative connotations in Guardiola's comments, vowing to ensure the best coach in the club's history continues his work at Barcelona, insisting that he will do everything in his power to keep him.

"We will do our best to keep Guardiola," Rosell told La Repubblica. "He is the best coach in the history of the club and is also a great person. We will do our best to keep him."

The Spanish and European champions are currently at the top of the table in La Liga after six rounds of matches, level on points with Levante, and one ahead of Real Madrid.

Guardiola has won two Champions Leagues and three Spanish titles in three-and-a-half years in charge at the Catalan club.

Guardiola also won the Champions League and six Spanish titles as a player with Barcelona.
