A video of AC Milan women’s striker Nadia Nadim treating her own injury has gone viral on social media. Nadim, who is also a doctor, suffered a cut in her leg during AC Milan Women’s win against Sampdoria Women at the weekend. Nadim used a tweezer and a pair of scissors with blood leaking from the cut. “One of the benefits when you are a doctor,” read the lines written in the video. Sharing the post on X (formerly Twitter), Nadim wrote, “This is just me, patching up myself, so I’m ready for the next games.”

Nadim joined AC Milan earlier this year. The Italian side announced her signing in January 2024. “Nadia, who plays as a centre-forward, was born in 1988 in Herat, Afghanistan, and holds Danish citizenship. Nadim has signed a contract that will keep her at the Club until the end of the season and will wear the number 8 shirt,” read the official statement shared by AC Milan while announcing the footballer’s signing.

AC Milan is the eighth club of Nadim’s career as she had previously spent time at some of Europe’s heavyweights. Nadim has so far featured for clubs like Fortuna Hjorring, the Portland Thorns, Manchester City, PSG and Racing Louisville. She has also been an instrumental part of the Denmark national football team. In the international circuit, she has already represented the Danish side in more than 100 matches.

During the game against Sampdoria Women, Swedish striker Evelyn Ijeh scored the solitary goal to clinch a win for AC Milan Women. Ijeh found the back of the net in the 71st minute to guide AC Milan Women to a victory. Nadim had to be substituted in the 68th minute of the Serie A fixture.

AC Milan Women currently stand fourth in the Serie A standings. AC Milan Women have so far recorded three wins from six games in the Serie A and currently have 10 points under their belt. In their next fixture, AC Milan Women will be up against Roma Women on Sunday, October 20.
