Kolkata: Happy to have returned to winning momentum at home, defending champions Atletico de Kolkata (ATK)) are now looking forward to halt the progress of leaders FC Goa in the Indian Super League football tournament.
ATK bounced back from behind to beat Chennaiyin FC 2-1 on their home turf at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan after two successive losses.
The defending champions on Sunday will clash against FC Goa who are on a high after their record 7-0 hammering of Mumbai City FC last night and the Kolkata outfit's head coach Antonio Habas today said it's about taking the winning momentum into account.
"I don't want to talk about being favourites. Our next opponents are FC Goa and we have to recover immediately. It's about going step by step," Habas said after their win.
"It's a very important win for us. I am very happy with my team. We are more confident for the remaining games now.
I'm not a magic coach, I'm just a normal human being. We have to plan as we have a difficult match ahead."
ATK will get back the services of their defensive midfielder Ofentse Nato who will be back after doing national duty for Botswana while it's likely that marquee player Helder Postiga may also return to action against Goa.
Chennaiyin FC coach Marco Materazzi complained about dubious penalty decisions but Habas said: "It's impossible for me from the bench to judge about penalty. We had similar problems too."
Taking an indirect dig at the referee, Materazzi said: "The pitch was perfect but there's one person (referee) I would have liked to change today."
"I really have nothing to complain about my players. We did shoot two or three times and we kept on trying. May be there was some penalty that was not given for us," he said referring to the 78th minute move when Bruno Pelissari went tumbling down after an apparent tackle from Rino Anto but referee Niovn Robes Gamini ruled out the penalty.
Asked whether they are out of the competition with 10 points from 10 matches, Materazzi said: "It feels as if you have been making fun of us. It would be difficult after this game but as a matter of respect to the club, we'll try until the end."
