New Liverpool midfielder Lallana is set to miss the start of the Premier League after injuring a knee in training.
New Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is set to miss the start of the Premier League after injuring a knee in training during a preseason tour of the United States.
Liverpool said the signing from Southampton knocked a lateral collateral ligament during a session at Harvard University in Boston.
Medics have not predicted when Lallana will return, but the club said "injuries of this nature can result in a spell of anywhere up to six weeks on the sidelines."
Liverpool opens the season on Aug. 17 against Southampton, which has already sold Lallana and striker Rickie Lambert to the Merseyside club and defender Dejan Lovren is expected to follow the same path.
