New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo insisted on Monday night that he is fully committed to Manchester United, although he was less than definite about whether he will be there next season.
Ronaldo flirted with a move to Real Madrid during the summer after an incredible 42-goal season which ended with Champions League glory.
But Sir Alex Ferguson refused point blank to sell his most valuable player, and the Portuguese winger was denied his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ronaldo's on-field body language in recent weeks has led to speculation that he is already looking ahead to the summer and a possible escape from Old Trafford.
And while the 23-year-old claims that he is fully focused on the Red Devils, he stopped short of swearing that he will remain at the club for the 2009-10 season.
"I insist I’m a Manchester United player and now I think that I will continue here next year," Ronaldo said in The Sun.
"My head is focused on the club. My focus is solely on playing well for Manchester United and winning the Premier League and Champions League again. The summer is finished. My head is always here in the club."
