With just eight days to go for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Twitter has revealed its dream playing XI, staring Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, England's Wayne Rooney and Brazil's Neymar Junior as the front three.

The line-up, a 4-3-3 formation, includes Germany's Mesut Ozil, Spain's Juan Mata and Andres Iniesta in the midfield. The defence is made up of Mexico's Miguel Layun, Spain's Sergio Ramos, Brazil's David Luiz and Daniel Alves. While, Twitter users have selected Spain's Iker Casillas as the goalkeeper of the dream team.

The team is selected on the basis of the most-mentioned player Twitter handles in the past three months, forming an XI that would surely be the envy of any manager in football.

The data also revealed that 30 of the 32 teams competing in the mega event have official accounts on Twitter. More than 300 of the players from the 32 competing nations are also on Twitter, with representatives of all the competing teams having a presence on the platform.

The FIFA World Cup 2014 will take place from June 12 to July 13, with the opening match in Sao Paolo between Brazil and Croatia.
