Brazil: Germany arrived at their World Cup base by ferry on Sunday, welcomed by flag-waving schoolchildren and a small crowd of well-wishers.

Joachim Loew's injury-hit squad enjoyed the sunshine during the short ride aboard a ferry to their isolated Campo Bahia base for the tournament. Police on water ski jets flanked the ferry.

The Germans landed in the Atlantic Ocean city of Salvador, then flew to the town of Porto Seguro, before taking the bus for the last stage of the journey to the village of Santo Andre, where their specially built base is located.

Germany left a day after thrashing Armenia 6-1 following some unconvincing performances. But the mood was soured by the loss of attacking midfielder Marco Reus, who is out of the World Cup with an ankle injury.

What's your reaction?
