Deadpool & Wolverine aka Deadpool 3 is set to release this summer. While fans are eager to see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reunite on the big screen, an Indian fan gave the Marvel characters a Holi spin. India celebrates Holi on Monday, March 25, this year. On the occasion, a fan created AI images of Deadpool and Wolverine having a Holi face off. In the photos, Deadpool and Wolvie were seen suited up and standing in the middle of a Holi party.
In the photos, Deadpool was seen covered in yellow Holi powder while Wolverine was covered with red, yellow and blue colours. Check out the photos below:
Deadpool & Wolverine is scheduled to release on July 26, 2024. It is directed by Shawn Levy, based on a screenplay he wrote with Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Zeb Wells, and Paul Wernick. The film marks Jackman’s comeback as Wolverine after seven years. He had hung him his Wolverine claws after appearing in Logan. While his character dies in the film, there are several theories doing the rounds suggesting how the anti-hero made a comeback.
The most plausible explanation for Wolverine’s return is attributed to a time-travel device within the MCU, allowing superheroes to navigate across timelines. With this device, Wolverine can be alive in Deadpool 3 while maintaining his deceased status in Logan.
Hugh Jackman mentioned this ‘device’ in a 2022 interview with SiriusXM when he answered a question about Wolverine’s return in Deadpool 3. Jackman explained, “It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines. Now we can go back because, you know, it’s ‘science.’ So, I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.”
Another theory that explains why Wolverine appears in Deadpool & Wolverine is that the film’s events take place before Logan. Last year, Jackman alluded to this theory when he appeared on talk show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace. Jackman said Deadpool & Wolverine is “pre-Logan.”
