Friends actor Matthew Perry passed away on Saturday, October 28. He was found dead in his Los Angeles home and it was reported that he died of apparent drowning. After his death, friends and work colleagues took to social media to pay tribute to the late actor.
After the unexpected passing, his former fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, shared her thoughts on their deep connection. In an Instagram post featuring Perry’s silhouette against a European cityscape, the 32-year-old reflected on the impact their relationship had on her life. “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented,” she wrote, adding, “As the Friends reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together.” She added that she loved the actor but he had also caused her pain. “While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship,” she wrote.
Recently, the cast of Friends issued a joint statement and mentioned that they are ‘devastated’ by the loss. The actors also shared that they are in ‘grieve’ and that it will take a little time to process this tragic loss.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” the statement read as reported by People. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” it added.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement further read.
