Watch: Jimmy Fallon And Drew Barrymore Make Shakira Take A Polygraph Test
Ahead of attending The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Shakira was made to undergo a lie detector test for fun purposes.

The latest celebrity to attend The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon was none other than ace singer Shakira. Ahead of her appearance on the chat show on March 26, Jimmy Fallon, along with his co-host and actress Drew Barrymore made sure to keep the viewers hooked and generate further excitement by teasing them with a special video rendition. The two television presenters released a fun cold open on Instagram featuring Shakira that left social media users in splits. The clip showed Shakira undergoing a lie detector test which was about her iconic 2005 hit track Hips Don’t Lie.

The hilarious skit opens with a concerned Jimmy Fallon asking Drew Barrymore, “Everything hooked up?” In response, Barrymore adjusts the polygraph device and confirms that they are ready to conduct the lie detector test. Seconds into the clip, Shakira comes on the screen. Despite being annoyed at the procedure, she agrees to undergo the exam. The polygraph’s sensors are attached to Shakira’s hips to check whether the singer was telling the truth when she said, “You know my hips don’t lie” in her popular song.

As soon as the song begins to play, Shakira starts swaying her hips to and fro in sync with the beats as the polygraph records the signs. Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore are engrossed in reading the signals, produced on the machine. “It checks out. They are telling the truth,” Barrymore shares her verdict, to which Fallon agrees, “Hips don’t lie.” Shakira bluntly chimes in, “Told you” as the video concludes.

At the Jimmy Fallon Show, Shakira discussed the meaning of her latest album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which translates to “Women no longer cry.” The She-Wolf singer revealed that the women have long been asked to hide their pain from everyone, being “sent to cry with a script”. However, her album tries to break free from the notion, giving women the power to decide how, where, and when to cry.
