Boil the peas in a saucepan. Be sure that the water level is just enough to cover the peas.
Lower the heat to a medium-low. Let it simmer for about 3 minutes, or until completely softened.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow the peas to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
Use a strainer to drain the water out. Make sure you save the water; this is very crucial.
Use a blender or food processor to puree the peas. If needed, pour a little of the water from before in the mixture to get the right consistency.
Serve immediately. Left over pea puree can be placed in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, or frozen it up to a month.
