How to Trade Steam Games
How to Trade Steam Games
This wikiHow will teach you how to trade Steam games that are in your inventory (not your library) on the desktop app. To trade on Steam, you'll need to install and register an account, confirm your email address, link Steam Guard (a two-factor identification tool) to your account, and wait 15 days for activation to complete.
Steps

Launch Stream. You'll find this desktop application in your Start Menu or Applications folder.

Click Friends & Chat. You'll see this in the lower right corner of the window next to an icon of a plus sign (+) inside a speech bubble. If you are using the website, you can navigate to your friends by clicking your profile picture and clicking Friends in the drop-down menu.

Click the arrow next to the person you want to trade with. This will bump out a menu for more options. You can only start a trade with a friend on your friend list. If you haven't added them as a friend, you cannot trade with them.

Click Trade and Invite to Trade. The trade window should open.

Click and drag the game you want to trade into the window. Only tradeable items will display in the "Inventory" grid, so if the game does not appear, you cannot trade it. If a game is not in your inventory, you cannot trade it most likely because you purchased a game version and not a gift version of the game. If you drag the wrong item into the trade window, you can easily drag it back into the "Inventory" grid to remove it from the trade offer.

Click Ready to Trade. You'll see this appear under the "Your items" grid when you add something to the trade. Clicking this does not mean you are finishing the trade, but you are done adding to your trade window. You'll still have the opportunity to check what you're getting from the trade before finishing.

Check what your friend is offering. When you hover your cursor over their item in "(friend's name)'s items," you'll see the name or description of the item pop-up.

Click Make Offer. This is a green button below the grid of your friend's items for trade.

Confirm the trade in your email or authenticator (if you're using it). You'll need to follow the instructions in the email or in the authenticator app to confirm the trade. Once your friend accepts the trade on their side, the items will swap between accounts. Your friend now has the game you offered in the trade, and you have whatever they offered.

What's your reaction?
