14 films to compete at International Film Festival of Kerala
A total of 14 films have been selected for the prestigious competition section of the 18th edition of IIFK.

Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 14 films have been selected for the prestigious competition section of the 18th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) to be held here from December 6 to 13.

The competition section includes films from Asia, Africa and Latin American countries.

"Capturing Dad' (Japan), 'Arbani' (Israel), 'Inertia' and 'Club Sandwich' (Mexico), 'Errata' (Argentina), 'Jonatha's Forest' (Brazil), 'Parviz' and 'Taj Mahal' (Iran), 'The Battle of Tabato' (Portugal) and 'Constructors' (Kazhakstan) are the 10 foreign entries in the section.

Four Indian films, including two from Malayalam have also been chosen for the section. 'Meghe Dhaka Tara' (Bengali/ Kamaleswar Mukherjee), 'Astu' (Marathi/Sumitra Bhave) and Malayalam films '101 Chodyangal' (Siddharth Siva) and 'Kaliyachan' (Farook Abdul) are the Indian entries in the section.

In the 'Indian Cinema Now' category, 'Liar's Dice' (Geethu Mohandas), 'Accident' (Nandita Roy), 'Crossing Bridges' (Sange Dorjee Thongdok), 'Lucia' (Pawan Kumar), 'The Dew Drop' (Abhinav Shiv Tiwari), 'Soodhu Kavum' (Nalan

Kumarasamy) and 'The Coffin Maker' (Veena Bakshi) have been included.

Seven Malayalam films have been chosen for the 'Malayalam Cinema Today' section including 'Celluloid' by Kamal and 'Annayum Resulum' by Rajeev Ravi, a release from the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the organisers of IFFK, said here.
