2 cops suspended for sleeping on duty

BANGALORE: City Police Commissioner B G Jyothi Prakash Mirji has ordered the suspension of two police constables on charges of dereliction of duty. The suspended police men were reportedly caught sleeping keeping their weapons aside at Chinnaswamy Stadium.  Shivakumar of Viveknagar police station and Syed Aneez of Kalasipalyam station have been suspended. Police said that the duo were deputed at the stadium on Monday night. ACP of High Court security Ramesh Babu, who was on night rounds, noticed the duo had slept keeping their rifles next to them. He brought the matter to the notice of the Police Commissioner and submitted a report following which they were suspended.
