Srinagar: At least 20 people were injured when militants launched a grenade attack near a crowded bus stand in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Militants had attacked a security force patrol near Tral bus stand, about 40 km from capital city Srinagar, but missed its target and exploded on the road instead. Among the 20 civilians injured were some school children, officials said.
Following the blast, security guards exchanged fire with the militants. However no casualties were reported so far, they said.
The injured were rushed to a hospital and the entire area was cordoned off by the security forces.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
