4 more held for Sahid Nagar riot

BHUBANESWAR: Four more youths from Rasulgarh, including three engineering graduates,  were arrested by the police on Monday in connection with last Wednesday’s vandalism in Sahid Nagar. All the four were produced before a local court here. With this, the total arrests in the incident went up to 15, 12 of whom belong to Rasulgarh area. On Saturday, Commissionerate Police had arrested 11 youths.Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh said they had been booked under Sections 147/148/149/294/307 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides Damage to Public Property and Criminal Law Amendment Act.Three teams, constituted by the Commissionerate Police, have been conducting raids to nab the rioters. On Wednesday last, a group of youths from Rasulgarh went on the rampage at Sahid Nagar damaging public property over a feud with some locals.Police said, another three or four youths who have been identified for their involvement will soon be brought to book.
