7420 apply for CENTAC counselling

PUDUCHERRY:  Over 7,420 applications have been received by CENTAC for admissions to medical, engineering and other professional colleges in the Union Territory.The merit list would be displayed in the first week of July. Now with the MCI having cleared admissions to the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, counselling is expected to begin by the second or third week of July.The date, however, would be finalised only after the seats in the self-financing medical colleges are decided. The government will hold talks with the latter for the seats, expected to take place after the election of the speaker of the Territorial Assembly.
