The Monsoon Session of the Assembly is scheduled to begin on August 28. It will continue till September 7.

The session will have eight days for official business and two days for private members. The session will witness massive change in the sitting arrangement of the members. While seats in the front rows of the Treasury Bench will be allotted to the nine new ministers, the seats of five members, dropped from the ministry, will also have to be changed. New Government chief whip and deputy chief whip will also take over during the session.

While Pravat Tripathy will take over from Rabinarayan Pani as Chief Whip, Sanjay Dasburma will replace Arun Kumar Sahu as Deputy Chief Whip. Sahu was sworn in as a Minister of State in the reshuffle on August 2. Sahu got Energy and Information and Public Relations portfolios.

The seats of four MLAs, belonging to the NCP and who merged with the ruling BJD, would also be rejigged.
