Garhmukteshwar (UP): An Australian bred mule fetched its owner Rs 2.28 lakh at the Ganga Mela held in Garhmukteshwar in Uttar Pradesh.
This is the highest price that a foreign breed beast of burden has ever been sold for in India.
Amirick Singh, who sold the mule on Monday, said he had purchased the mule from Rajasthan for Rs 1.5 lakh a year ago.
Ganga Mela, a week-long market, which concluded today, is considered the biggest market for mules in northern India.
