Though the chargesheet filed by the Special Investigation Team probing the T P Chandrasekharan murder case
before the Vadakara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court stated that further investigation would be conducted into
the larger conspiracy behind the brutal killing, there has been no move for such an inquiry.
Sources maintained that the SIT itself admitted in the chargesheet that a larger conspiracy was behind the murder of the RMP leader. For conducting an investigation into the conspiracy -- that will go beyond the first 14 accused and those who helped the accused to go into exile, as said in the chargesheet -- the SIT should
file an affidavit before the court as per section 173 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, even after 20 days of the submission of the chargesheet, there has been no such move from the part of the officials.
The chargesheet stated that CPM’s grudge towards Chandrasekharan resulted in his elimination at Vallikadu
near Onchiyam on May 4. It lists out the factors for the CPM’s grudge which include the strong challenge posed
by the Revolutionary Marxist Party floated by Chandrasekharan at Onchiyam, Chorode, Azhiyoor and Eramala
panchayats in 2008, defeat of the CPM candidate in the Vadakara Parliament constituency, and the attack on P Mohanan, CPM district secretariat member and chief election agent of the LDF candidate, by RMP activists
in Vadakara. According to the sources, these are enough to prove that top CPM leaders were involved in hatching the murder conspiracy. But there is no move for further probe and the SIT is planning to wind up the probe.
