KOCHI: UDF convener P P Thankachan has circulated a memo among all the ministers asking them to avoid making any hasty appointments to chairpersons of boards and corporations. The memos were sent to ministers, including the Chief Minister, after some of them had made appointments defying the convener’s directive.Thankachan has asked the ministers to make the appointments only after having a wide ranging discussions with their respective parties and the Front. During the first round division of corporations and welfare boards, the Congress got appointments into 22 organisations, including KTDC, GCDA and TRIDA; IUML was given 17, including SIDCO; Kerala Congress (M) 10; SJD six and Kerala Congress (Jacob) three. Even social groups like Dheevara Sabha and Viswakarma Sabha were given organisations. As many as 30 more posts remains to be divided.
