BJP campaign launched at Sriramulus village

BELLARY: Candidates for the Bellary bypoll were busy campaigning on Sunday.Even as their nomination papers were scrutinised on Saturday, BJP candidate P Gadilingappa on Sunday launched his campaign after offering puja at Shri Chellagurki Yerritata temple. He started campaigning in Joladarashi village, from where Sriramulu hails. People found it odd that the BJP candidate launched his campaign from the village which is believed to be the stronghold of Sriramulu.Former minister B Sriramulu met his supporters at Kuteera, the home office of the Reddy’s. On Saturday, Sriramulu had campaigned in ward 24 in Cowlbazaar. He resorted to a door-to-door campaign on Sunday.Congress candidate Ramprasad is set to launch his campaign once the last date for withdrawing nomination papers is over. The district youth Congress held a preparatory meeting for the bypoll on Sunday.
