BANGALORE: The board “No entry in room number 304”, in the third floor of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Research, where former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has been undergoing treatment since Sunday, has been a source of irritation to visitors. Though Yeddyurappa’s treatment at Jayadeva has not affected services at the out-patient department (OPD), some of the attendants complained that ever since the former CM has been hospitalised, entry and exit for relatives of other patients has become very difficult. “I have been waiting for the last half-an-hour to visit my son who is admitted in the children’s ward, but due to the huge rush and stringent security measures, officials are not letting me inside,” said a mother whose child was undergoing treatment at the hospital. Even some of the patients’ attendants admitted in the rooms adjacent to room number 304, had to undergo repeated security checks every time they entered the ward. Entry and exit for VIPs is easy but for those whose relatives are admitted in the ward it was a herculean task, added another attendant on the condition of anonymity. Flouting all rules, norms and hospital instructions, many politicians along with their supporters made it to the ward turning a deaf ear to the requests of the police officials. Almost three of the 10 police officials deputed in the special ward tried to stop Excise Minister M P Renukacharya and his supporters accompanying him to enter the ward on Monday, an effort that went in vain.facets of security■ Many MLAs, relatives of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and Sangh Parivar members, too, called on him in his room in the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Vascular Research■ A police official on condition of anonymity tells Express, “If Yeddyurappa himself is turning a deaf ear to our requests, what can you expect from his supporters. We are helpless here.”■ Nearly 10 police officials are deputed just outside the special ward on the third floor of the hospital, whereas more than 150 police personnel have been deployed in and around the hospital to ensure the safety and security of the former chief minister
