New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested six suspects on Thursday in connection with the Burdwan blast case. The suspects were picked up from Sahibganj in Jharkhand.
According to reports, the suspects may be connected to the Jammat-ul-Mujahideen terror group in Bangladesh, which is said to be involved in the blast case.
Khaled Mohammed, who was arrested by the NIA from Hyderabad, was produced before the city sessions court in Kolkata. Khalid is suspected to have provided training in explosives to the Burdwan terror module. Seven other suspected terrorists have also been produced in court. Khaled, Sajit and Amjad have been remanded in NIA custody till 28 November.
The rest, Razia Bibi, Alima Bibi, Hasem Mollah, Zia-ul Haq, Abdul Hakim, were remanded in judicial custody till 5 December.
