HOSUR: Tension prevailed at Nakkalpatti village, near Krishnagiri, following a clash between the functionaries of the AIADMK and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) over placing AIADMK party banner.Sundarmurthy (32), a functionary of AIADMK, and his party colleagues put up a banner of the party in the village. Some cadre of the VCK objected to this. A verbal duel broke out on the issue between the cadre of both the parties and ended in a clash. In the melee, the VCK cadre reportedly burnt the AIADMK party banner. This added to the tension in the area.The police have registered cases against seven persons, including Mahendran, Ramamurthy, Murugan and Madesh based on a complaint lodged by Sundaramurthy. Later, a police team led by Kandekuppam Inspector Dakshinamurthy arrived at the spot and the brought the situation under control.
