BANGALORE: The state Cabinet which met here on Thursday approved a host of projects, ranging from providing infrastructure across various districts to setting up a chip design and testing facility.
The decisions include:
Rs 9 crore extension of tax concession to ToyotaKirloskar's car manufacturing facility at Bidadi. "The company was given tax concession to the tune of over Rs 80 crore in 2006, which had set up a new assembly line to produce small and compact cars," Minister V S Acharya said.Administrative approval granted to build new harbours at Maravanthe, ShiroorAlivegdde in Kundapur taluk and Honnavar. State government will spend Rs 36.80 crore on Honnavar and Shiroor projects; Maravanthe fishing harbour project to cost over Rs 45 crore for which Centre will share 50 per cent of cost.Rs 3,700 crore 700 MW gasbased combined cycle thermal power project proposed to set up at Bidadi cleared. Gas for the power plant would be drawn from the proposed DabolBangalore LNG pipeline .Proposal from IT department to set up chip design and testing laboratory at Electronic City, Bangalore, cleared.Government also decides to set up a project evaluation centre to monitor quality of works of projects worth more than `1 crore.
