THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strong action is needed against misdemeanours against women at their place of work and in public spaces, All-India State Government Employees’ Federation vice-president Tamil Selvi said.Tamil Selvi was inaugurating a women’s conference organised as part of the 45th state conference of the Kerala Gazetted Officers’ Association here on Saturday. She lauded the efforts made in Kerala to empower women and equip them to face social realities.There is a need to fight anti-labour tendencies through strong agitations. The willpower of employees cannot be broken through transfers or punishments, she said.KGOA state president T K Subhash presided over the function. NGO Union vice-president R Geetha Gopal, KSTA vice-president P D Sreedevi, journalist R Parvathydevi and KGOA vice-president Dr K T Sreelatha Kumari spoke. Dr V Remakumari has been elected state women’s committee convener of KGOA. Mariam John, Mercykutty George and Supriya are the new joint conveners.
