A rally was also organised on April 5 in the city before the Gandhian had started his fast.

Mumbai: Hundreds of people from diverse walks of life in Mumbai on Sunday participated in a car and motorcycle rally to celebrate the success of social activist Anna Hazare, who forced the government to accept his demands for a tougher legislation against corruption.

The rally was organised by India Against Corruption (IAC), an umbrella group of people and organisations who have come together to collectively demand enactment of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

"The car and bike rally started from Shivaji Park in Dadar and ended at Kaifi Azmi Park in Juhu. With over 100 cars and 40 bikes, 1,500 people joined in. It is our way of celebrating Hazare's victory," Manan Gandhi, a volunteer of

India Against Corruption, told.

Aditya Paul, a 24-year-old freelance content writer, said, "The rally is to mark our victory as we won the first step. The battle is still on and we are all ready for a larger and bigger fight. We would try and sustain the pressure on the government till the bill comes into force."

The 73-year-old anti-graft crusader Hazare, who went on a fast-unto-death from April 5, ended his fast on Saturday after the government issued a notification constituting a joint committee of ministers and civil society activists to draft an effective Lokpal Bill.

Similarly a rally was organised on April 5 in the city before the Gandhian had started his fast.
