Chennai Police to monitor crime reporters, keeping a tab on the press

Chennai: Chennai police is monitoring crime reporters in the city to ensure that there are no negative news reports in the media.

According to reports, an internal circular issued by the Chennai police has named 4 senior officials to keep a tab on print reporters and media houses in the city.

The Chennai Union of Journalists has written to the Press Council Chief Markandey Katju demanding an inquiry and action against Chennai Police Commissioner S George for keeping a tab on crime reporters.
